Samsung Exec Confirms: Samsung Galaxy S5 Release Date at MWC 2014

After some continuous rumors, today Samsung's executive conformed that the most awaiting Samsung Galaxy S5 release would take place at the Mobile World Congress next month.

Recently, Dong-hoon Chang, EVP and Head of Design Team for the company's IT & Mobile Communications division, and Head of Design Strategy Team at Samsung Electronics' Corporate Design Center, confirmed the rumors and added in Korean web site named as - inews24, that Samsung will unveil its flagship phone at the said event with a "new material" in tow.

According to Mr Chang, the company is trying to add new features. He also comments on popular rumor that Galaxy S5 features, including flexible display technology. As he says, the company is "currently under review" and he did not confirm whether the feature will make it to the Samsung Galaxy S5 release date. Just some days before, there was reports that both Samsung and LG may not be able to release a flagshape phone with flexible display early this year as the technology is still being developed. But at the same time, companies may release version packed with curved flexible display later this year.

However, Mobile World Congress 2014 will be held on Feb 24 in Barcelona. It’s expected that the company will hold a separate launch for the handset before the tech event just like what it had while introducing previous Samsung Galaxy S devices.
