Sony Unveils Xperia Z Ultra Phablet

After seeing the popularity of phablet, today Sony officially announced the Sony Xperia Z Ultra, a whopping 6.4-inch Full HD Android smartphone powered by Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 800 chipset. The device is running at 2.2GHz, the MSM8974 quadcore which makes it faster than any other device. It also has 4G LTE and an 8-megapixel camera.



Sony had unveiled the 6.4- inch waterproof smartphone with 179 x 92 x 6.5mm and 212g. it’s the first smarphone from Sony mobile family to pack with Qualcomm's top-of-the-line Snapdragon 800 processor, Along with this it's the biggest handset till now from the company. Few hours after recent official announcement made for Xperia Z Ultra, Sony’s Netherlands office shared the European price in its local press release. But there were no price information for global market. It’s expected, the upcoming phablet will become available worldwide by the end of Q3 this year.

Like the popular Xperia Z, the new Sony Xperia Z Ultra is also certified with an IP58 durability rating which means it is both water and dust proof. The device is completed with WiFi, NFC, Bluetooth 4.0, and GPS, along with DLNA streaming. Along with this the device is powered by Android 4.2, it's the first handset from Sony Mobile to launch with the latest version of Jelly Bean.

Meanwhile, first time Sony had introduced new accessory, the SBH52 “mini handset”, to attended long calls as 6.4-inches of phone might be a bit much to hold to the side of your head for long calls. The new mini handset will work on Bluetooth – with NFC for easier pairing. The handset can be used traditional, with plug-in wired earphones, or held directly to your ear.
